krispynoodles: Pinterest Love...

I have a status update for my 'Thirty Things in Thirty Days' list, however there are several presents I've made for people that are thrown into the mix... They will not be receiving them until later in the week and I know they read, so I will post my update after that in order to include all the photos! And speaking of photos - don't think you're being duped in the photo department on this post - I promise there are so many, they will probably take an hour to load (okay I hope not... but seriously, there are lots!)

In the mean time… I think I must be the last blogger on earth to blog about the latest and greatest thing ever, ever, ever….. Pinterest! It is my new obsession, my happy place if you will. I cannot get enough of all the wonderful things there are to find (and copy!) on Pinterest. What starts as a quick look to see what is new rapidly evolves into several 'lost' hours - there is just so much to see.

If you are one of the few who have not come across Pinterest yet, you might be interested to know what it's actually about! Here is their blurb on what Pinterest is….

"Pinterest lets you organize and share all the beautiful things you find on the web. People use pinboards to plan their weddings, decorate their homes, and organize their favorite recipes.

Best of all, you can browse pinboards created by other people. Browsing pinboards is a fun way to discover new things and get inspiration from people who share your interests. To get started, request an invite"

Basically Pinterest is the online version of the folder full of torn out magazine pages I have at home! How it works is that you find an image (anywhere in cyberspace) that you'd like to pin to one of your boards, and once pinned, its in a central spot for you to locate again, and others can see it too. The best thing is that it doesn't just pin the image, but keeps the url for webpage you pinned it from - so you can always go back and get more info if you need it - genius!!!

Same as others can see your boards, you can also browse other people's - so there is just so much to find! If you see something on another person's board that you like, you can repin it to your own boards so you can find it over and over (and again, find the source with all the info you need to copy it!)

The subjects you can pin about are endless… anything from home inspiration, renovations, DIY, crafts, sewing, scrapbooking, recipes, party foods, décor, weddings… the list goes on and on. The only drawback I can see is that it does sometimes take a long time to load.... but it's worth the wait! And you can follow those you like... I am following several - many in fact!
